Lead stains on roof tiles
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.42 PM
There are stains on my roof tiles, the roof is only 2 years old. I have been told that the lead flashing was probably not treated with patination oil and that has caused the run off/stains. Can the stains be removed and can patination oil be applied to the flashing now?

Yes the lead has oxidised as most likely not patanation oiled front and back. Depending how badly stained tiles are and how visible you might be best replacing tiles. The lead now needs wire wool rubbing all over it and then apply patanation oil, make sure to do underside of lead aswell.

Patanation oil has to be applied pretty much straight away are no longer than 24 hours after been fitted it won't make any difference putting it on now
