Grey Indian slate

I have had my grey Indian slate laid for 8 months over that last 5 months iv had damp patches on some of them that won’t go iv tried waiting to see if they dry out even when I jet washed them they are still visible when slate is wet ,
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, it could be possible the mix had too much cement in them and leach up in to the flag and cause staining.
Hope it was a full wet bed that they where laid on but sounds like they where spotted, if they where spotted then the pointing will start to fail.

Sounds like poor workmanship
Laid on five spots or castles and as sandstone is porous the salt from the cement sucks into the pavers which is what your seeing unfortunately

Sounds like your sub base and mortar mix is your problem most likely not laid on a full bed, could have air / water pockets under the slabs.

Hi it’s definitely possible that it may have been spotted rather than a full bed of muck if they are spotted then this will happen along with the pointing falling out or crumbling away and it can depend on the mix to
