What size coping stones for vertical breeze block wall?
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.57 PM
The width of breeze blocks is 100mm. What size concrete coping stones do I need? I'm under the impression it will need 175mm in width to allow an overhang once the garden wall is rendered but the builder has purchased 140mm. 100mm wall thickness, 20mm render on both sides of the wall = 140mm, so would 140mm be too small as the render has to be 20/25mm thick? 175mm coping stones will leave a 35mm overhang so 17.5mm on each side after render.

Yes you are right the larger stones would give a better look and also a bigger over hang so to protect the block work better

The larger capping would be more suited for the job as you will need a drip each side to stop any water staining on the render
