Fencing

Neighbour has re fenced without filling whole side

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.46 PM

My neighbour had to (unwillingly) fit new fence panels this week due to broken panels. When they first moved in over 2 years ago, had the trees cut down at the bottom Of the garden to the stumps but blocked out the view of them with a fence panel, removing a good 3 ft of their garden, allowing the space to overgrow with ivy and weeds. They have now re fenced but instead of taking the panel down to the bottom on my side, have boxed in without taking it to the bottom post, leaving it totally open with an unpleasant view and mess to be seen but not by them. This is unfair in my eyes. What can I do?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If it’s their fence they can do what they like within reason. You could always try talking to them? A bit of a neighbourly chat can work wonders.

If it’s part of there garden and unwilling to sort out, the only thing you can really do is get on to the local authority. But maybe let them have a look if possible so they can see why your unhappy.
