always ask for a receipt prior to giving payment, always beware of anyone only dealing in cash payments , did you get anything in writing saying what was going to be done at what price, lastly if unhappy leave them feed back keeping to the facts.

Always try to get something in writing before the job has started, that way you have some evidence that they have been working for you. Ideally even if the job is indeed in cash payments you should still be provided with a contract or a written agreement.

The best way is to request an invoice before paying a payment. If the tradesperson not replying then Id say leave a feedback and it will make him get back to you!
