Ist a build up off condensation you might need to get fan fitted

Hi there, I’m unsure of the paint that may have been used on your bathroom in the past however a good method of prevention for this is a well ventilated room, “ window open or Turbo extractor fan fitted “ Use of paint specifically designed for bathrooms such product is moisture, mould and mildew resistant. And will prevent and limit the issue you are having.

HI, had similar problem with a client where paint was peeling off in bathroom due to the build up of condensation even with the window open ,first suggestion before repainting was to get an extraction fan fitted but the customer felt he needed a cheaper in budget option so I recommended sanding, prep and then applying a sealant clear paint usually used for elimination of reoccurring mould and condensation indoors .Applied 2 coats of sealant and 2 of paint ,now been a year since the job and the ceiling looks spotless with no pealing of condensation build up . i agree with the fitting of an extractor fan. be sure to then prime the ceiling with shellac based primer ie, zinsser b.i.n or similar before re finishing with a specific paint for the purpose such as dulux easicare mid sheen or valspar V500 - 700 BLEND (B&Q) good luck.

New fan then stabilise with binding agent and repaint with specialist paints for high moisture areas

Hi, This issue would seem to be due to a build up of condensation in the room this could be due to low ventilation. We would sand the ceiling down and apply an anti mould undercoat such as zinnser before repainting. We would also suggest fitting an extractor fan.
