Standard shower arm won’t fit the water pipe

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.42 PM

I have a new shower arm (and head) that’s a standard size of g 1/2 But the water pipe that it’s supposed to connect in the wall to is wrong size. The water pipe is 1.5 cm inner thread or 2cm outer thread. Any suggestions? I need a new shower head but looks like none will fit as they all come in g1/2 size.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Best bet is to get a 22mm to 15mm coupler to join the both. They’d need to be joined with PTFE tape as they’re both thread to thread connections. It wouldn’t cost much if you’re doing it by yourself.

Hi there , you will need a “male iron fitting “ which will be 15mm to 1/2in . Normally a 15mm wall plate elbow works sufficiently with ptfe tape on the thread of the shower arm . You just need to be carefull of the depth you set it in the wall to ensure you dont have any thread showing on the shower arm .

You just need to keep your shower arm in the right angle when you try to connect as 1.5 cm inner is same as 1/2
