A fencer caused damage to my community garden whilst working on a property.

Can I claim on their PLI although I didn't hire him? Thank you all for your suggestions. I believe I am on course now for a resolution to this problem. Your help is very much appreciated!

Hi
There is different levels of liability insurance
My liability covers me for damage to someone else’s property whilst working even if I’m not hired by that person
So you might want the contractor to check his liability
Hope this helps

Hello,
You should contact the contractor. His liability insurance may be able to cover it or he may propose another form of repairing the damage.

Firstly have you spoken to the fencer directly and asked him to repair the damage? Do you have proof that he caused the damage? Video evidence?

Trading standards push the 3 'R' Rule.
Repair
Replace
Or refund. Insurance or not . They have to leave the area as they found it.
If not its damage to property, reportable to the authorities.
Thanks
