If you use a cavity tray do you still need to have a horizontal dpc?

In a cavity wall, If you install a cavity tray 150mm above ground level, do you still need to install a horizontal dpc?

As a cavity tray is plastic it is a DPC in itself, no need for additional DPC if it is on the existing DPC !

Yes, You would add horizontal DPC underneath cavity tray. This will act as a double barrier against rising Damp.

Yes, I always add a horizontal damp proof course as well as a cavity tray. Most cavity trays won't cover all of the masonry below a horizontal dpc is a must .
