Underfloor heating in bathroom

What are the regs for underfloor heating in the bathroom. Putting in a heating mat under tile area, wired to a thermostat outside, and electrician is asking me if the mat is suitable for bathroom. There is nothing I can see for any electric underfloor heating mat regarding IP44 rating and zones.

Just follow me manufacturers installation instructions. Just to be on the safe side keep the controller and power supply switches outside the bathroom. Regards, Andrew

Basically your electrician is right to query the ip rating of the floor mat. Most work in bathrooms requires more consideration as the bathroom is considered a 'special location'. Look it up.

An underfloor heating mat is designed for underfloor heating in a bathroom. Thats probably the most common use for one. IP rating of floor mats indeed.
