Can I use gravel o er concrete?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.03 PM

We have some ugly concrete at the front of our cottage that, thanks to spiralling renovation costs, we can’t afford to remove. Any ideas on how to disguise it? We’re going for a gravel garden area so wondered if we could just cover the concrete with it as a short term solution? All other ideas welcome! Thanks

Hello yes you can use gravel as long as it doesn't go above the damp course of the house. Also you need to consider that after a while the gravel will move as it is on a solid surface and become patchy. For a long term solution you could have a resin driveway which would go over the top concrete if solid.

Very simple cover the concrete using black bitumen adding the stone or shingles while the bitumen is wet this will help the stone to stick to the concrete

In stead of using gravel I’d use slate as it has a flat surface and tends to stay in place better on concrete than gravel dose
