Removal of kitchen wall do I need building control sign off?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.46 PM
I am removing a non-load bearing wall myself. It’s part of a 2 year old extension, the wall runs the same way as the ibeams do and spans 5 meters from existing house wall to new back wall of the extension. Once removed and made good do I need to notify building control?

In most cases, knocking down an internal wall will require Building Regulations consent, although there are times when it may not be required

while you don't have 2 inform building control in most cases there are exceptions such as in the case of stairways or fire exits/ escape routes
