New Consumer Unit Needed For 100 Amp Main Fuse
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.46 PM
Hello. I am having my main fuse upgraded to 100 amp for an EV car charger by my DNO but they have said I *may* need my consumer unit upgrading to be able to support the 100 amp fuse. At the moment I have a MK Sentry and it has a sticker on with the following info- BS EN 60439-3 220-250v 50Hz a.c Rated current must not exceed 63 amp max Any chance someone could tell by eye if this Consumer Unit could handle a 100amp main fuse at all? Or would I need a new unit putting in? House is a 3 bed with 2 people living in it. Built in the 70's but has had electrical work done over the years. Many thanks!
