Toilet Waste Pipe - Can it come out of the wall above a window?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.45 PM
I hope that makes sense. Toilet currently is at the back of the house (First Floor) and goes directly outside and connects to main soil stack on the same wall. What I would like is to move the toilet from the wall at 12 o'Clock, to the one at 3 o'Clock. This is also an external wall, but Is that possible for the waste to go around the corner to connect to the main soil stack?

It would be possible for a qualified plumber to do this for you but there are a few things to consider before committing to the work.
The wall you say is at 3 o’clock, if the pipe comes out there, and is overhanging a neighbour’s property it could result in a boundary dispute and also problems with access to complete the work.
Making a soil pipe do a 90degree bend also isn’t ideal because even with a good drop there is an increased risk of it becoming blocked.
Soil pipes are not small and a large hole will need to be cut through your wall to put the new one in. Then you will be left with the fact that you have a soil pipe wrapping around the outside of your house.
Hope this helps

I would not recommend a soil pipe above a window just incase it leaks.
If the window were open and the toilet flushed waste water could come through the window.
Soil pipe can go around the corner of a building though.
