Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.45 PM

Hi All, Can anyone assist me with how much materials are needed a 24 sqm patio ? Here is what I see, but let me know if you agree/disagree Mot 1 Jumbo bags (10 sqm coverage per bag) = 3bags Sharp Sand Jumbo bag (8.8 sqm converage per bap) = 3 bags Cement = ? Building sand slab gaps = ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The mot 1 realistically is not an accurate amount as you should have 100mm depth, that would work out around 5- 6 tons. Most probably 5 would be more that adequate. The sand sand i would agree with and ide suggest around 15- 18 bags of cement for a strong mix. The slab gaps i would also disagree with using building sand and would suggest some kind of geo fix / grout as it holds better, is less messy and easier to maintain.

Yes,I agree with the answer and definitely need a good solid base of mot and geo fix grout to avoid any staining on the slabs and is permeable, the last thing you want on a path or patio is sinking slabs, build a solid base and it'll be good for years to come.
