Overboarding when there is an upstand
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.27 PM
I have a small 1x4m flat roof with an upstand in it.It's old but there is no internal damp.Could it be safely overboarded and new felt laid.Would the roof edges need to be redone? I want to renew it but don't want to have the roof stripped off.

As long as the existing roof is structurally sound and is not going to be affected by the extra weight, then your good to go ahead

Yes as long as there is no current damp problems and the current structure can take the extra weight of the new overboard you should be ok. I would highly recommend getting a survey done just to be sure.

yes there must be no issue as long as your old roof is good and no damp on it you can go for new overboard no worries.
