Bathroom Fitting

Build toilet on ground floor of house

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.42 PM

I wanted to make a small bathroom under the stairs. Just a toilet and sink with tiles on wall. There is already enough space under the stairs. Do I need planning permission or building regulation permission before I carry work out. Thank you

Definitely not but usually gas and electrics are under the stairs and that does require competent and registered people

No planning permission needed for this alteration/addition unless the property is grade 1 listed. I would ask my local council if unsure.

If you're adding to or altering underground soil pipework then BC will want to check. Adding/connecting above ground then not. Extraction needed if no opening window. Installed and notifiable by electrician when lighting done. Apart from that all good👍
