Advice on a leaking window (videos included)

In 2018 I had a leaking window, I got a builder round who scraped the old silicone out and resealed the window- this seemed to fix the issue, he said the roof looked okay, the chimney flashing above the window looked okay, as did the mortar around the lintel In 2020 I got a new window fitted, and today it is leaking again-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tGX3BIcFY0 Here's the sealing round the window currently and a view of the mortar around the lintel- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqIuSjzUNFE With the water coming in from the top left of the window I'm a bit lost at what to do. The silicone looks fine, the mortar is less than 0.5cm back from the brick face (though does have a bit of moss growing in it). There's a small gap in the weather strip, but it's too low down to be the source of the water. Main problem I see is that with it being a 100 year old house the water could be getting in anywhere; roof tiles, flashing around chimney, debris between inner/outer walls, wall ties creating a "thermal bridge", mortar around lintel, silicone around the window. There are so many potential sources that I don't even know what category to post this question in. Any advice on what to do? My current plan is to scrape out any loose mortar, point around the window, put some more silicone around the top and corners.

Hi there, it could be a possible be a couple of things. The window could be held to far out from the blink which means the windows needs to pulled in to the return of the brick work. Possible a dpc on the head of the window and cavity. Or the water is working its way in from a top window above that possible through the concetre cill or below the upvc window cill. A think the best thing to do eliminate All other possibilites scrap out mortor re point the brick round the top of windows and lintel. Your silicone work looks quite good. Check all areas above! If none works pull the window out refit behind the blink and dpc above window and in the cavity. Hope this helps

Hi you can get professional “leak detection” People in, who basically put a “positive pressure into the room with smoke and follow where the smoke goes. But as previous answer it’s could be anything. And by a serous of elimination you will solve it. I like his answer re fitting deeper into reveal and doc. But I would also treat the external brickwork above the window with Thompson’s water repellant as this is brilliant at keeping water out
