Acid Damaged Patio

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.45 PM

Our patio was caked in cement by the builder. We asked them to clean and they did so with acid (we only knew this after the fact). It’s completely discoloured, dull and damaged now. Is it possible to retint & seal a damaged patio? They are utility slabs Update: Patio specialist has been round and said cannot be tinted, so it's sealing or replacing

Yes, there is an option to retint and seal the slabs, but first, you must be sure there is nk any remains of the acid, the patio should be washed with pressure washer, using neutraliser, let few days intil fully dry and then do the tinting and sealing. Normally, the acid we use is brick and mortar cleaner which is harmless to the cement based products if washed on time.

Hi, i would of said that really you will not be able to return them to original colour and look because the acid will of been inbedded into the concrete to much and if you jet wash to hard you will deface the slab even more -- you may bring them back to some sort of life for a few months but they will soon start to discolour again --- ? tj
