Replace traditional garage door with a wooded garage door with window panels
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.45 PM
Hello, I live in a townhouse with internal garage and I'm looking to replace my garage door with a wooden garage door with window panels. Do I need to get planning permission? I know this does not change the footage of the property so technically would not require planning but the style of the proposed door is different to the original plan approved in the 60s. Many thanks, Leon

Under normal circumstances no you would not need planning approval. If you live in a conservation area, you would not normally need planning approval but if there has been an Article 4 direction imposed then it would need checking.
I am assuming that your property is not listed.

You should find out if you have a conservation order on your property.
