Can I get my old wooden staircase from 1992 cladded?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.45 PM

I have got an old wooden staircase in a bungalow which needs to be repaired and renovated. Is wooden cladding possible on it to give it a new look and life?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Most bungalows are single story only and so therefore would not have a staircase, however I have installed several staircase in bungalows which have had loft conversion, it is possible to clad a staircase dependant on the condition and the integrity of the original staircase. To the person who asked the question I hope this was a helpful answer. Kind regards Andy A T Carpentry

I would suggest repairing the staircase first. Usually the jionts loosen up and the glue block deteriorate. Hence a creaky stairs, once you address these issues its a simple task to enhance the staircase.
