Kitchen Fitting

AEG vs Hotpoint Integrated washing machine cupboard door mount

Anonymous user 9 March 2024 - 3.27 PM

Hi, we had an integrated AEG washer dryer which we need now to replace with another integrated washer dryer. I am trying to find a brand that would match the existing cupboard door holes. Do you know if Hotpoint or another brand would have exactly the same hinges fitting position on the cupboard door? Unfortunately we cannot find a new matching cupboard door to replace. I'm trying to avoid the situation when the new machine hinges will come in a middle of the existing holes. No matter how well the holes are filled with the filler, eventually the door will come loose under the strength of spinning. If the new holes need to be repositioned above or below, no problem in terms of aesthetics Thanks, Alexandra

Most manufacturers use very similar mounts for hinges and door mounts etc but it's not hard to locate on the intergrated door.

You can fill the door properly will timber and glue them in place. Then you can cut new hinges wherever you need to

In my experience, unless you are swapping like for like then the hinge holes will be in different places. If you could source a new door to match your existing kitchen, then that would solve the problem.

Hello , Most intergraded appliances work on a similar hinge span. However it’s easy enough to relocate the hinge hole on the door. If you had to relocate the hinge I’d recommend filling the old hole with a hinge hole hole cover purely for ascetics.
