If I accept a quote, do I need to pay anything else to anyone?

If I accept a quote from a tradesman, do I need to pay anyone anything else or is the price the tradesman quoted the only amount of money I need?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi June,
If you mean do you have to pay 'MyBuilder' any money for accepting a tradesman the answer is no. The tradespeople pay a fee when you shortlist them and there are no fees payable by the job poster.
When you have central heating worked on make sure you use one that is registered to an appropriate trades association. (i.e. if you have gas use a 'Gas Safe' engineer; if you have oil use an Oftec engineer)
Ensure their quote covers all the registration and certification needed, which it should.
All the best.

I would be careful in the amount of people you shortlist as all of them will have to pay a fee. Even been only one will possibly win the job listed. And not always made aware to the client posting jobs that this is the case.

I have only just joined Mybuilder but will be not taking anymore jobs. Was shortlisted for a job only to ring and be told he already has someone coming, which means Mybuilder gets paid from everyone short listed however many that might be, Good way for company to make money but I'm out of pocket if I pay. No thanks

It depends what you’ve agreed with the contractor. sometimes the contractor will quote for materials & labour but others may expect you to buy materials, however this should all be discussed & agreed before the quote is issued

This is a commonly asked question.
You pay only the price you have been quoted by the tradesman, to the tradesman. There are no more fees to pay anywhere else.
