Removing diamon leading from inside double glazing

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.27 PM

Hi there! We have that awful fake diamond leading effect on some of our windows and unfortunately it’s on both sides of the outer window in a double glazed unit. Is there any way of removing the leading without replacing the whole window? Many thanks for any advice! 🙂

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes just change the double glazed unit

Unfortunately it's probably more cost effective to have a new double glazed unit made. It is possible to have the existing unit split and the lead removed then reseal the unit, but this is far more labour intensive and unlikely you'd find anyone willing to do it. Hope this helps.

No, you will need new units made I’m afraid.

New glass units ,it's not overly expensive ,but you need to look at age of windows ,probably most cost effective, and economicly ,energy saving etc to change whole frames
