Fascia above bay window coming away from wall

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.27 PM

Hi, Just trying to find some advice. We have a black panel running across the top of our bay window. It’s starting to hang off and I’m worried it will come away from the wall Not sure if it’s called a fascia or a soffit as I’m not too clued up on it. What sort of tradesperson would I need to come and have a look at it?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, It’s more than likely the fascia or the Soffit Board, the best person for this would be a roofer who will have adequate access equipment so overall it will be cost-effective for you. If you need are roofer to do the works for you it would be nice to get a few pictures also

You need a roofer or fascia/soffit fitter. This is a simple job - just refixing back to the rafter. If existing rafters are rotten you can install false rafters to create a better fixing.

Hi. You don't particularly need a roofer to do the job. Just a trade person that knows what they are doing. I gather the soffit or fascia is on the inside of your property.. You can either try to refix and it will all need replacing.
