U can glue the edpm to the wall you will just want to make sure it is cleaned and prepped before doing so. You will need to use the contact glue coating both the brick wall and the edpm. Providing your using the correct mastic to adhere the EPDM (such as Arbo) you should be fine, when applying the EPDM ensure its a dry and dust free surface . Make sure you apply a constant bead behind the EPDM and tool or use the applicator roller to ensure a good seal for the EPDM.

I would use arris rail this gives a natural fall away from brickwork
