Is it possible to install a smart bidet on a top entry inlet ?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.26 PM

Hi guys need help or suggestions, we are trying to install a smart bidet but we made grave mistake of not knowing that our current toilet is top entry inlet instead of bottom as most toilets do. So, is it possible to install the smart bidet with the top entry inlet? Firstly we were thinking of drilling the side cistern to allow the hose to get through so it can connect to the bidet. But my partner suggesting there might be a conversion kit for top to bottom. Cheers

There're few different type bidet, recently I fitted one which is connected to the bottom of the inlet valve than to the cold feed to cistern. I've seen it's fitted to the side inlet valve, and it worked, it got to be done nice and securely tho. Other options fit a compression Tee on the cold feed where is suitable then bit of pipe works to fit the bidet, again depend on what type bidet you have there.

Personally, I would need to see how the bidet is fed/plumbed. Can it be fed from a standard cistern or does it require a specific one. If the question is relating to how the cistern itself is filled the it's often not so hard to change pipe work to feed a top entry to a bottom entry or Vice versa.

Partly agree with the previous answer . But without pucs hard to say. The entry is not usually to much of an issue as the previous answer. The thing that would be of concern is what the bidet entry and pipework.... Also a flexi-pipe may do the job ...

with these types of bidet you should first consult your water board as they will have specific rules regarding the installation of these.
