Plastering & Rendering

What further info should I give?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.26 PM

I posted a plastering job on 26 Jan. One of the invited traders rejected it on the basis of 'poor job description'. I gave two pictures and the text: 'The rendering on a concrete parapet at the top of an outside wall has come away. (This is shown on the images) I just need the missing piece to be replaced. But it is possible that most of the entire width of the strip of rendering is unstable and needs taking down and replacing. I need your honest advice! You can see the problem from the road, so come round and take a look any time!' Photographs x 2 What other details should I have given?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I can’t see the pictures that you have put in the description but you can certainly check if the render has blown, if it has it will all need taking off and re doing

Maybe some sort of measurements? just an idea, so the plasterer can assess the best and worse scenario and give you the respective figure. Don't be put off by trades declining the invite as it can be for a variety of reasons from the lack of photos (not you in this case) to the fee that we have to pay Hope you can get it sorted.

The full wall would require Hamerton testing and it is very common for ther to be much more loos than has fallen of so would require someone to come out and check it
