Can alusplash be used on a wall where patches of the top plaster coat are misdinge

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.26 PM

We are looking to use alusplash in our kitchen but dome bits of the plaster top coat have come off when removing the old tiles. Will we need the wall replastered beforehand or will the alusplash accommodate the imperfection

Alusplash is a aluminium sheet material so it will cover fine, you may want to make sure the rest of the wall is not going to fall away prior to installation as the adhesive dabs may pull the plaster away. you could PVA the wall first to to be sure its stable enough.

As Long as the wall is flat behind the splash back and the splash back covers the area where there is bad plaster you should be able to get away with it as long as you stick it on with silicone and remove and loose debris .

you can give alu splashback, but it's better to fill in the defects in the wall in advance and even out it a bit before installing the alu splashback.

Alusplash is good material, but my sugestion is apply new plaster to the entire wall or patch it up, if there are only minor cracks, the wall should be smooth, paint, fresh. Then you can install alusplash.
