Plumbing

the pipe from my hopper is too short but i cant find a replacement

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.26 PM

I have some new drainage channels fitted for a new patio but they are about 10cm higher than than the drainage hopper so I need to lift the hopper by about 10cm. How can I bridge gap between the hopper and the pipe below? I can't find a replacement hopper, nobody seems to have the right size. I need it to be 230mm square (or in length anyway) and the pipe it connects to at the bottom is 150mm. I have seen one 230mm square but that has a 160mm downpipe from it. so that would be too big unless I get an adapter - even then I might be short of pipe. So is there a simpler way of extending this pipe - maybe with 2 adapters and more 150mm pipe in between?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes. Get a length of pipe to match the size of the original, you can purchase “couplers” you’ll just have to cut a bit of pipe to fit the gap. Then use the coupler to connect the two.
