Megaflow overflow frequently running with water

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.41 PM

Hi, We have a megaflow system installed in the house we’ve moved into. No instructions were left for it. Every time our hot water/central heating turns on, water continually runs out through the overflow pipe for around 5 minutes. We’ve had a plumber out to look at it and he made some minor adjustment to something to do with the pressure gauge?? But, it’s still doing the same thing. We’ve been in the house for nearly two years but have only noticed this in the past 9+ Months. Is this normal? Did we just not notice it before?! It seems like such a waste of water (and therefore money)! Thanks in advance!

You need another plumber who’s G3 certified for this job G3 certified plumber will probably find the issue seems like a pressure build up in the tank ands its is releasing pressure by the turndish valves or expansion vessel may need re setting

This could be a problem with your expansion vessel try knocking on it at the top and bottom should sound hollow at the top and more solid at the bottom would be best to call out a qualified plumber with unvented certificate(G3 qualified) hope this helps
