Leak on condensation pipe Vaillant Eco-Tec
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.57 PM
I had a boiler service done last week and all was okay- the PRV was cleaned and the expansion valve pumped. However I know have a leak on the condensation pipe- even though the expansion vessel was only replaced a few years ago . I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

The condensation pipe is not connected to the vessel or PRV.
It may be a case of when the boiler was serviced the engineer has disturbed the condense trap/pipe causing a leak

The condensation pipe is part of the flue and is not connected to the water heated up inside the boiler like the PRV is
If it was something that the engineer did accidentally it would leak straight away
It's not unusual for something to leak inside a boiler, ask your engineer to have a look

The condense pipe is not connected to the expansion vessal. It forms part of the flue. If it is leaking it may have been knocked whilst the engineer was working. Or simple wear and tear seen it numerous amount of times

Are you certain it's the condensate pipe you are meaning or is it the pressure relief pipe that's dripping. If its the pressure relief pipe that would make more sense as it could be that's its now letting by after being cleaned. The condensate should be connected to a drain or soakaway and should be plastic. The pressure relief will be copper and terminate outside
