Power cut downstairs only, fuse change fixes temporaraly

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.57 PM

Hi and thank you in advance for any advice I am getting a power cut downstairs only affecting everything except the cooker and the lighting which I believe is on a seperate circuit. Since this started I have replaced ALL the fuses (30Amp) in the mains fuse box and this is still happening, but not immediately, power is fine for 30 mins or more then suddenly goes. The only appliances plugged in downstairs are the boiler and two fridges is this likely to be a faulty fridge, boiler or other electric issue, and how to I find out more specificly Many Thanks

Sorry but that's a job for a professional electrician. Circuit requires a proper inspection and test.

Fuses ‘blow’ for a reason. Stop replacing the wire and get a professional in asap, before a more serious issue arises.

If it’s going every 30 minutes it might be overloaded. Definitely sounds like you need an electrician to look at it ASAP

If it keeps blowing there’s a fault. You need to get an electrician on to solve this!

Would definitely recommend getting an electrician in who can test all relevant circuits to find and fix the fault that is causing it to trip.
