Mixer tap not mixing hot and cold water

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.03 PM

Got a new mixer kitchen faucet, professionally installed a year ago. However we only get either cold or really hot water and nothing in between. Was the tap just badly installed or is there a part missing... Any thoughts? Thank you!! This is the faucet in question https://www.diy.com/departments/goodhome-kamut-silver-chrome-effect-kitchen-side-lever-tap/3663602481928_BQ.prd

kitchen taps are not mixers, they are dual flow ,the water only mixes when it has left the spout.

As sated prior sink or basin taps are not thermostat and so you adjust the flow of each tap to get the desired temperature, or add your amount of hot water and then cool with cold to your desired temperature which is what I personally do as it’s the best way for getting the temperature I like, I hope that this helps

If the water pressure is in a proper range, the problem should be solve with cartridge replacement

the cold supply being mains is clearly dominant i am assuming then the hot is a gravity supply so you could either restrict the cold to allow more hot or fit a PEV to even up the pressure but clearly this will drop the cold pressure
