Faulty tarmac shortly after being laid

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.45 PM

When my driveway was done it look amazing but the days that followed the tarmac started to flake and come up whenever we walked on certain patches the company came back out and said the tarmac plant had overheated it then went on to say they will have to argue it out with the tarmac plant before they can resurface my drive just wondering if this is true or should they replace my drive straight away and look to get the money back from the tarmac plant ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Aye up , it’s jay from outback, they should replace the drive no questions asked , it’s easy to place the blame with someone else. It’s your reputation on the line and recommendations from past projects is paramount to being successful and knowing you have done the right thing irrespective of the cost

Hi this is David from DB construction in regards to the tarmac driveway crumbling up underfoot it is generally because the tarmac has been heated to much no pitchmen left in the stone the produce of the tarmac is to blame it is the duty of the installer to make sure it’s correct there is a duty of care to be considered they should resurface the driveway and the producers of the tarmac should reimburse the installers
