How to stop minor leak on radiator valve

Hi, I have recently changed a radiator valve and it was initially leaking at the bottom, then I removed the nut, applied plenty of PTFE tape around it and screwed the nut back, and now its still leaking but in extremely little amount, but its still leaking. How do I overcome this please? by the way the leak is coming from the bottom nut where there is a ring that goes around the pipework. Thank you in advance :) sorry I forgot to mention, there is already a brass olive in it but it has been tightened so much to the pipe that I cannot remove it anymore :(

Hi You might want to change the olive, if it's a brass olive they tend not too tighten very well so a copper olive will be better as they grip better. You can by an olive splitter which will cut the olive off so it can be removed, or you can use a pair of pump grips and gently twist it off without damaging it. I would say as this is a valve a temporary fix would be with some PTFE tape. And then replace the valve unit to relevance

Hi Applying some jointing compound around the olive should fix this issue. The olive has most likely been over tightened.

So it is leaking on the compression fitting have you got the brass olive on the pipe for the compression fitting you can use to PTFE tape But I prefer to use L-SX sealant from screw fix it £5 and put the is the pipe and olive and then fasten up the fitting and ensure it is not super tight and that should hold it.
