Electrical

three phase meter at a domestic property

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.44 PM

do you know a supplier that will install a three phase meter at a domestic property? I have asked the network distribution provider to install a three- phase supply and they have said the energy supplier needs to install a three-phase meter but Scottish power do not install 3 phase meters. Do you know any supplier that installs 3 phase meters at a domestic property?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Every domestic property is fitted with a single phase supply, you would need to contact the hydroboard as they would need to change the supply coming into the house once they do that then they would put a 3 phase meter into the property, it's the main SSE who would do this not a supplier.

I've been to several domestic properties with three phase heads and meters. Usually larger places with swimming pools etc. I know sse/ovo definitely fit them if you have a three phase head. If you haven't you'd need to get in contact with your dno (which will depend on what area you are in) to get the supply upgraded.
