Gas Works

I have just had a freestanding electric cooker installed but it does not sit flush to the work units because we have a disused gas pipe behind it. Can a gas engineer remove this to make it flush?
Hi In theory yes the gas pipe can be cut off and made flush as possible . It may have a forward facing bayonet that can be removed and should make it go back a inch or two but all depends on the cooker installed as some have a lot of clearance on the rear panel and some don’t . Thanks Adam @handy gas Ltd .

Yes of course he can. If it’s accessible it can all be removed. If it comes from below and a wooden floor it can be capped with a soldered joint below floor level.
