Restoration & Refurbishment

What is the general sequence of work in a refurbishment?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.44 PM

I am looking to undertake a refurbishment, which includes a new heating system, removing false ceilings/increased the height of the kitchen (moving the joist), replacing the bathroom and kitchen etc. What is the sequence of work? how can you determine the overall time span to complete? My understanding is that it begins with destruction i.e. removing the ceilings, flooring, old kitchen etc (I imagine the heating system is off/emptied before this?) - then the new heating system can go in (but without the radiators or piping?) - then any wall changes are done/put in place - then the walls/ceilings are fixed/skimmed etc - then the bathroom and kitchen can be installed and then finally the flooring, is this right?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi it will start from demolition, removal existing flooring, kitchen bath etc, 1st fix of bath kitchen plumbing, if any electrical work needed specially wall socket relocating in kitchen with new layout. Plastering skimming and then decorating and then bath and kitchen tiling and fitting &fixtures . The last thing will be flooring. The whole process will take 3-4 weeks Hope you got your answer

Hi Your best option is to get a professional in to do it,,, I have seen many people try to organise it themselves and it just adds time and complications to the process
