Can I have one workmam only for a gas and electric job?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.44 PM
I currently have a gas hob that is fitted and a new plug in oven that I want to connect. The gas pipe prevents the oven to fit in place and needs to be slightly moved to allow space. Also an electric socket at the back of the oven cupboard needs to be moved to an adjacent cupboard to allow access to it. Currently this socket is used for the electric wire to ignite the hob. A double socket will be needed for the wire to the hob and for the oven.

If your Gas man has a part P certificate and is registered then he/she can do both jobs

You should be using two tradesmen to do the jobs separately as they both will have different liability insurance.

I would recommend making sure they have correct qualification but if it’s a rental property make sure you get safety certificates

If the gas man is qualified for gas safety and electrics above regs then your lucky. Most jobs like this takes 1 electrician and 1 gas man. Fixed prices should be available.
