Our house is under renovation our builder has laid copper pipes and some electricals wiring in a concrete trench and lagged copper pipes with some black hair felt material cloth kind of material not denso tape it’s loose cloth kind of material which he has than covered and levelled everything up with sand cement mix. Is it a right thing to do? Am I running a risk of leak in coming years Please advise what can I do over here

All copper pipe laid in a concrete screed should be covered with denso tape celafelt stitched pipe lagging (which is like the hairy felt material) or run in a conduit. So yes what your builder has done is correct.

copper pipe should always be protected with a suitable sleeve or suitable material wrap when coming into close contact with cement or plaster.

Personally I would never lay copper pipes in a concrete floor and cover with sand and cement no matter how well they were covered.
If I was going to cover pipes with sand and cement I would use plastic only unless their is a proper gully with a top cover for easy access for future

Copper is crossosive in contact with cement I don’t recommend laying copper in cement.
