Damage to roof and felt

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.26 PM

I have lost approx 40/50 tiles off my roof in high winds, the felt in that area now looks stretched and rippled. it’s snowing at present and when Iv just been up in loft to check, the felt it glistening as if there’s water penetration. Will the felt need replacing as well as the missing tiles?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes, the felt will need changed due to the glissening on felt which indicates that moisture has got though and frozen over due to the snow. So yes change felt and tiles to be changed.

It does not have to be changed but if it's within your budget it would be advisable to do so as its purpose is draft proofing as well as second back up for broken or missing tiles .

No, quite honestly. That could quite easily be condensation. Get the roof tiled back in!
