Downstairs rads aren't heating up
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.26 PM
Hi, I have 4 rads upstairs and 5 downstairs on a conventional boiler with a water tank, the ones upstairs are working fine, the ones downstairs are not heating up. Why is this happening? Much appreciated

Hi,
Try opening both TRV and Lock shield valves fully on all downstairs radiators then bleed them. Throttle back the same valves on upstairs radiators to 1 or 2 on TRVs and see if downstairs radiators get warm.
Good luck.

This sounds to me that this could be pump problem on the heating I would shut both sides of the upstairs radiators if the pump is working this will push the heat to the down stairs radiators just make sure by both sides of the radiators are open if they heat up then open the upstairs radiators this should resolve the problem finally if they do not up I would have the pump checked and replaced hopefully this will be helpful
