Why my Combi boiler is losing pressure

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.25 PM

Why would my 8 year old Ideal logic combi boiler be losing pressure every 4 days. A new heat exchanger was fitted less than a year ago and i can not find any leaks on the radiators.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

A lot of reasons really. If no visible leaks then check the following. 1. Start with prv check. When the heating is on, does the prv Push out any water? Is it constantly pushing water out? If yes then expansion vessel is probably faulty. You can check the expansion vessel. If not then go to next one. 2. Next check for air in the rads. Bleed the rads. If still same problem. 3. There could possibly be airlock in the system so will need flushing the system. I’d recommend that you get an engineer out to diagnose it and find the actual cause and repair it. Hope this helped.
