Heating works, no water from any hot water taps

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.40 PM

I have a Vaillant ecotec plus boiler which had been flashing pressure too high (2.8/2.9). Bled the radiators and got it down a bit, but when the heating is on it creeps back up. I turned the grey taps at the bottom of the boiler but they didn’t do anything so I turned both back to the closed position. Then also, the hot water taps all don’t have any water coming out anymore since I bled the radiators. Cold taps are working fine so not a supply issue. Thanks

Hi. It sounds like you’ve left the taps under the boiler that you used to fill it up n the on position. Try turning them and the hotly taps should run.

You have turned the cold water inlet valve off at boiler hence not hot water flow, also if pressure is rising continuously when heating is on the expansion vessel could need charged or expansion hose/pipe is blocked…

The grey plastic levers are known to round off on those boilers. You have turned the taps back to the off position but they have spun on the valve body and not actually closed the valve if that makes sense. Get a Phillips screwdriver and remove the grey plastic handles. You’ll then see the brass part of the isolation valve, get a flat head of adjustable and close them that way
