Can I fit an unvented hot water tank in a bathroom
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.40 PM
I am installing solar thermal for a house of 5 people and need to find a place for a hot water tank. I could just fit a 210 litre slimline vertical unvented tank in the bathroom in a space in the corner at the end of the bath. Are there any regulations about fitting hot water tanks in a bathroom? The only other option is a horizontal tank in the triangular space of the small attic, but even there space is very tight 770 mm height at wall end of slope, falling to 620 mm,740 mm closer to the eaves. Just possible, but very tight!

No issue to have it in a bathroom, especially if it’s in a cupboard. Only considerations are electrical zones.

Just make sure of the mains water supply in that it's not to high for the water heater , if so fit a pressure reducing valve and expansion vessel
