New small kitchen where to put 2 freestanding machine plugs. Isolators in cupboard?

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.57 PM

New small kitchen to be fitted, no room over worktop for all isolators so want to put them in cupboard. Washing machine plug and dishwasher plug I would like to be on wall behind machines. Is this still within the rules?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes you can put fused spur switches in cupboard. but the isalator should be easily accessible.

There is no need for isolator switches if you can get to the sockets. You would just unplug them. It would be easier to just put the sockets in the cupboard and feed the plug leads to them.

Yes that's fine, as long as they are accessible. I'd suggest positioning them sensibly in the cupboard so the switches don't get knocked to the off position or damaged.
