Roller Blind Measurements

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.02 PM

I have two windows which I want to add blackout roller blinds to. These are sash windows and will need the blinds face fitted. The size of the window is 114cm in width, end to end of the architrave. The size of the actual window glass is 87cm in width. Should I order blinds which are 116cm in width, so they cover each side by 1cm? I hope I am making sense here and can get some advice. Thanks.

your blinds need to be around 5 cm wider on each side of architrave

As it is blackout blind, yes I would order the longer blind. I would fit a new timber batten above the architrave and fix the blind to that.

OK if light, sound is the issue this company provide a better blind with side channels to stop light/ sound bleed ..its not 100% but it does alot better than free hanging regular blinds. https://www.blocblinds.co.uk/window_blinds/blocout_info?gclid=Cj0KCQiA7oyNBhDiARIsADtGRZbJJM-64pV7-DVqD87Z4W9jqdmWFdDuMTlGVaNXJdffld3gPlRfIMUaAorCEALw_wcB
