Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.43 PM

I have stud wall that has goes up to the underside of staircase or a sloped roof? I'm just not sure what the detail will look like because I will be fixing the head of the wall to sloped surface

Hi, Not 100% sure as to what your query is? The wall will be a triangular at the top, where it intersects with the slope. It is a common detail/shape, especially where the staircase is in the room. The only complication comes, if you need to run cornice or architraves etc into the junction too. As far as the head of the partition stud, you will need to either pick up a joist or timber, within the ceiling to gain a secure fixings. If this is not possible, you can cut out a section in the ceiling plasterboard and then fit a batten in the void and secure you stud to this. Be careful of any hidden wires within the ceiling void. Hope that helps
