Solid brick wall damp membrane

Renovation of a 1820 detached cottage and looking at best way to damp proof membrane and insulate internal walls. I was planning on drill and inject / tanking slurry and them Damp proof membrane upto 1m but I was hoping to either batten out walls with dpc behind them and use insulated plasterboards ontop of the battens, but architects drawings show insulation then batten over the top. How would I put a damp proof membrane behind the battens or insulation without damaging it as I don't think it will work. I was thinking of battening it all and then put damp proof membrane in-between the battens and put behind the roll of DPC. Any suggestions? Can't use EWI due to roof. Must be internal
